Ep. 1: Goryo Enters the Scene Amidst Spirit Encounters and Agency Rivalries
Rio Kurotori faints after obtaining a fake Forbidden Text during a meeting with Soratsugu "Enchu" Madoka and Teeki the Fallen. Meanwhile, Nana Takenouchi interrupts Yumi and Rika, who are contacting the spirit Kokkuri. At the office, Toru Muhyo and Jiro "Roji" Kusano discuss a recent magic prison incident before Nana shares details about the spirit contact. Kokkuri attacks Yumi in her bathtub, but Nana and Roji arrive to find her deteriorated. Magical law enforcer Daranimaru Goryo and judge Hanao Ebisu of the Goryo Bureau of Supernatural Investigation perform an exorcism, restoring Yumi. They suspect Roji is a failure to Muhyo. Yumi warns that Rika is in danger. Kokkuri enters Rika's home and falls into traps set by Goryo and Ebisu. Goryo sentences Kokkuri to the Cavern of Roaring Tigers. Ebisu explains the Sendai office is one of ninety-nine managed by Goryo. Goryo challenges Muhyo to a commission race for the Akagawa Estates, with the winner taking the district and the loser leaving permanently.
