Ep. 4: Roji recalls his past interview with Muhyo while traveling to the Magic Law Academy with Imai.

Goryo seizes Muhyo and Roji’s office and dismisses Ebusi for his failure. Following an indefinite leave for Roji, Muhyo decides to collaborate with Yoichi Himukai and Yū "Biko" Abiko to rescue Rio. Roji travels by train with Reiko Imai to the Magic Law Academy, triggering memories of his application two years prior. During his interview, Roji mistakenly identified Muhyo as a child. That night, he and a magical law judge became trapped inside a vengeful snake spirit in his hotel room. While other candidates failed, Roji channeled his ren into the judge’s staff to free them. Muhyo punished the spirit with Hades's Grasping Hands for unlawful entry and injury. Despite praise from others, Muhyo insulted the failed applicants. He then offered Roji the position of second-class secretary and green suspenders after Roji admitted his desire to help people. In the present, Imai encourages Roji to understand his selection. Meanwhile, Enchu celebrates Rio’s recovery, and Muhyo meets with Yoichi and Biko to prepare for a project.
