Luna intervenes but learns Bell prefers cleaning their shoes. In class, she meets transfer student Shingo and learns about a field trip for planetary settling experience. During gym, Luna and Kaoru play Air Basketball against Howard’s rough team. Afterward, Shingo nearly hits them with his gasoline-powered scooter. Oct 23, 2003Luna attempts to rescue Sharla from a fire but becomes trapped herself. Shingo arrives in a construction vehicle to help, while Kaoru assists from a distance by throwing a rope. The group escapes, but media coverage is suppressed due to Howard's father's influence. A week later, Chako, Luna's robot pet, hides in her backpack during a class field trip. Menori announces group assignments, placing Luna with Menori, Sharla, Bell, Howard, Shingo, and Kaoru. Their shuttle encounters a severe gravity storm, prompting the captain to order passengers into escape pods for an emergency warp. Howard and Shingo take the pilot seats, but an accidental button press detaches their shuttle, leaving the seven children stranded in the storm as the main ship departs.
3EP 3Children navigate a gravity storm to crash-land on an alien ocean planet
Oct 30, 2003A shuttle is ejected from a colony into a gravity storm, landing in an unknown location. The children struggle with a malfunctioning computer until Chako emerges from Luna’s backpack to assist. Chako connects to the system and guides Luna, who has prior experience, through landing procedures. Lightning strikes the vessel during descent, causing it to crash into an ocean and rest on a rock. The next morning, the group discovers real clouds, sun, and an Earth-like atmosphere. While searching for supplies, Shingo finds an inflatable life raft. Menori and Howard decide to row toward nearby land to scout the area. During their journey, they are attacked by a large snake-like sea monster.
4EP 4Menori and Howard escape a sea monster while stranded on a shuttle near the rocks
Nov 13, 2003Menori and Howard attempt to row back to their shuttle, but a sea monster attacks and destroys their boat. They reach the shuttle and hide inside until the creature departs. Once the tide rises, they try to push the shuttle free from the rocks to drift toward land. The monster returns and rams the shuttle, forcing the hatch open. It nearly catches Bell, but Kaoru throws a knife at its eye, causing it to retreat. The monster’s struggle lifts the shuttle off the rocks, allowing it to float away. The wounded creature follows, but the water becomes too shallow for it. The children secure the shuttle to a tree and spend the night inside. Early the next morning, the ground shakes from the sound of large footsteps.
5EP 5Sharla is terrified by a giant creature outside the shuttle, and the group faces a carnivorous plant.
Nov 20, 2003A large creature attacks the shuttle, causing Sharla to cry hysterically before leaving behind a ten-meter footprint. Chako determines the flight systems are useless, while Shingo attempts to repair communications. The group splits up to search for supplies, with Shingo and Chako remaining behind. Luna tries to comfort Sharla, who remains depressed. Luna and Sharla encounter a carnivorous pitcher plant that traps them with its tentacles. Bell and Kaoru hear the scream and destroy the plant to rescue them. Shingo fails to fix the communications, and Chako’s power is low. The group returns to the shuttle at night, eating the fruit they gathered. Chako uses the fruit to recharge her fuel cell.
6EP 6Children search for resources while facing dangerous creatures in the forest and beach.
Nov 27, 2003The group resumes their search for food and water, with Shingo and Chako joining Kaoru, who eventually separates to find fruit and obsidian. Bell and Sharla struggle to create fire, with Bell persisting until his hands bleed. Meanwhile, Luna, Menori, and Howard chase a kangaroo-like creature before being pursued by a giant lizard. They escape into a tree near a lake, where an elephantine creature with a long tongue attempts to reach the leaves but fails. Howard screams in fear, driving the creature away. Determined to navigate, Luna and Menori decide to climb a distant mountain to regain their bearings, accepting they will not return to the shuttle before nightfall, with Howard accompanying them.
7EP 7Kaoru crafts tools while the group searches for the missing trio who reach an island peak
Dec 4, 2003Kaoru shapes obsidian into a spear and knife, while Chako and Shingo struggle to fish without hooks. Bell and Sharla successfully start a fire through teamwork, rubbing their hands raw. The group worries about Luna, Menori, and Howard, vowing to search at sunrise. Kaoru learns from Bell that fish must be cleaned, realizing everyone must collaborate, so he crafts bone hooks and additional knives. Meanwhile, Luna, Menori, and Howard spend the night in a cave before reaching a mountain summit, discovering they are on an island. Initially depressed by the lack of people, they recover their bearings, map the island, and collect water before heading back toward the shuttle, eventually reuniting with the others who began searching for them.
8EP 8Children Dig Water Pit and Elect Luna Leader After Tobihane Incident
Dec 11, 2003The children struggle with the exhausting three-hour round trip to fetch water using small plastic bottles. Bell and Shingo propose digging a pit and using a deflated life raft to transport water. On the way to the lake, Sharla encounters a small hopping creature she calls a tobihane but is horrified when others want to eat it. At the lake, named Fairy Lake, Luna is briefly surrounded by a pink glow after being pushed in. They find fruit and fish, and Shingo suggests building a house in a large tree called Magnificent Tree. Menori notices the tree area has footprints matching those from the shuttle hull, so they deem it too dangerous and return to the beach. After days of unsuccessful foraging, Bell, Howard, and Menori trap a tobihane with an injured leg. Bell butchers it for food, causing Sharla to hate him and run away. Luna convinces Sharla to return, and the group elects Luna as their new leader, replacing Menori.
9EP 9Children Struggle to Build a Treehouse After Shuttle Destruction
Dec 18, 2003Exhaustion and hunger cause friction among the children aboard the shuttle. Luna proposes relocating to a house in the Magnificent Tree near Fairy Lake to avoid a giant lizard. While Kaoru stays behind to manage the fire and craft saws from shuttle panels, Chako, Shingo, and Howard assess the tree's suitability. Howard returns with a branch sample, and the group spends the night drafting house plans. The following day, Howard remains at the shuttle to fish while the others gather materials for the foundation. Despite the significant effort and some accidents, they finish the base. Bored and unsuccessful at fishing, Howard joins them and climbs the tree to inspect the work, causing the entire structure to collapse. Upon returning to the shuttle, they discover it has been destroyed and their fire extinguished.
10EP 10The Children Decide to Build a House in the Magnificent Tree
Dec 25, 2003After surviving in a cave, the group plans to construct a shelter using shuttle wings. Luna discovers a gentle giant creature injured by shuttle debris near a lake. She removes the metal shard, calming the beast, but Howard’s panic scares it away. Despite skepticism, Luna and Sharla prove the creature is harmless when it repels a lizard. The others agree to trust it, naming it Pague. The creature helps haul the heavy wings into the Magnificent Tree, allowing the children to begin their construction project with a new ally.
