Naruto encounters three female ninja from the Hidden Waterfall Village seeking details about the Leaf Village's border patrol, which he had previously discovered. The ninja pursue Naruto and eventually cross paths with Iruka, who attempts to shield him. Kakashi Hatake arrives to rescue Iruka, allowing the two to reconcile. In the present day within the Leaf Village, Yamato receives news from Shikaku that Naruto has defeated Pain. Shortly after, an ANBU member informs Shikaku that he is required to attend a very important meeting.
