Shino reflects on the bond formed with his teammates after the failed Sasuke Retrieval mission. After a failed attempt to capture a thief identified as a rogue ninja from the Hidden Waterfall, Shino falls into depression due to his poor close-range combat skills. Kurenai sends Kiba and Hinata to take Shino to a hot spring while offering taijutsu training. Although Shino gains enough agility to dodge Kiba, he still feels inadequate until Kiba and Hinata are captured by the bandit. Shino rushes to their aid, utilizing his new skills to defeat the enemy and save his friends.
