Sasori boasts of achieving his ideal immortal form before the division battle resumes. Shin, manipulated by Sasori, attacks with Deidara’s explosion clay inside him. Kankuro sacrifices Salamander to encase Shin and contain the blast, but Shin’s body reconstitutes. Deidara gloats about using Shin as a bomb, enraging Sai, who knocks both enemies into Kankuro’s puppets. Omoi uses lightning style to defuse the clay. Shin departs for the afterlife after seeing a finished drawing of him and Sai holding hands, which breaks the Reanimation jutsu. Sasori also dies, moved by Kankuro’s speech about immortality through puppets, entrusting his Mother and Father puppets to the younger ninja. Kabuto senses the loss of Sasori and Shin, leading Tobi to suspect Kabuto is manipulating the Allied Shinobi and himself against each other.
