Ay informs Tsunade that Kinkaku and Ginkaku are feared Hidden Cloud criminals who nearly killed Tobirama during a peace conference with the Second Raikage. The brothers wield artifacts from the Sage of the Six Paths, including the Bashosen war fan that utilizes all five Chakra natures, and survive their use by ingesting Nine Tails chakra. Samui and Atsui assist Darui in combat, but the siblings trap them using the Kokinjo rope and Shichiseiken blade to seal their spirit words in the Benihisago gourd. Darui alters his spirit word to avoid sealing, steals the tools, and traps Ginkaku. This action forces Kinkaku into his pseudo-Jinchuriki mode.
