Ep. 285: Pakura of the Sand uses Scorch Style while Maki faces her master's tragic fate.
A flashback shows the Hidden Sand Village celebrating Pakura’s victory over the Hidden Stone Village. Her student Maki trains with her, receiving advice to protect loved ones. Meanwhile, Sand officials consider sacrificing Pakura to the Hidden Mist Village to secure an unfavorable truce. Pakura is assassinated by Stone ninjas. In the present, Allied ninja battle the Ninja Swordsman of the Mist, Gari, and Pakura. Pakura reveals she was sent as a sacrifice. Maki pleads that the Fifth Mizukage’s leadership changed their village’s reputation, but Pakura remains skeptical. Omoi and Zaji stop Pakura’s attack, incapacitating her. Gari arrives and targets Maki. Pakura uses fireballs to corner Gari, urging Maki to flee. After the group escapes, Kabuto erases the minds of Gari and Pakura.
