Kakashi Hatake orders his squad to rest while staying alert during the night. Shinobi from HQ deliver a large item to Kakashi, who gives it to Sai for sealing reanimated ninja, with Lee assigned as his bodyguard. Sai recalls a Super Beast Scroll seal variation requiring emotional energy, fearing harm if his mind is not controlled. At dawn, reanimated ninja resume attacking Allied forces, including Jinin Akebino. Kakashi slashes Jinin while Ensui binds him, allowing Sai to perform the Sealing jutsu. Gari arrives, prompting Lee to defend Sai and Ensui. Remembering his time with Team Kakashi, Sai controls his emotions and executes the Crouched Tiger Bullet jutsu to trap Jinin in a scroll.
