Kakashi learns Sai sealed a Mist swordsman and rushes to a commotion where he finds Jinpachi Munashi and Kushimaru Kuriarare fighting over the Kubikiribouchou. The two Kirigakure shinobi attack Kakashi, who is soon joined by Might Guy. They awaken an unconscious kunoichi, Ran, and instruct her to flee before engaging the enemies. Jinpachi temporarily blinds Kakashi with an explosion, but the duo persists, recalling a past mission with Rin. They withstand the assault until Ran returns with a Sealing Team that successfully seals away both Jinpachi and Kushimaru.
