Following the Kage Summit, Tsunade dispatches Team Kakashi to The Hole to investigate a massacre. Due to other incidents, she regrets assigning only this team. The group splits: Yamato and Sai meet Hachou Village officers and are escorted to leader Disonasu by Shiseru’s team. Meanwhile, Sakura and Naruto encounter Kabuto Yakushi at a water spring. Kabuto explains that reanimated ninja caused the deaths so he could use the water to clone the living Hidan. As the two sides clash, a flashback reveals the reanimated shinobi destroyed the village. It concludes with teacher Dokku rescuing children Leo and Miina, allowing them to escape with other survivors.
