Team Asuma reaches an oasis but is blocked by Team Ameno, who demands their scroll for safe passage and medical aid. Team Asuma refuses, prompting Ino to attack Suna-nin Shishio, who knocks her out with sand lions. Shishio uses chakra-infused ground to cloak his team, giving them an advantage over Sakura and Choji. Ino awakens, sensing the enemies to help her team counterattack, but Shishio’s barrier disrupts her sensing. Restrained, Ino transfers thoughts between teammates to warn them of blind-spot attacks. This strategy allows Sakura and Choji to defeat the Suna-nin. Team Asuma declines the scroll, having two matching ones. Medical-nin from both teams heal each other before parting ways, promising to meet in the third phase.
