In the Demon Desert, Ameno extracts poison from a wounded Sunagakure team member while Shishio searches for nearby shinobi. Meanwhile, Chouji Akimichi, Ino Yamanaka, and Sakura Haruno seek supplies after a team confrontation, leading to bickering between Sakura and Ino. They are attacked by a giant scorpion, which Chouji and Sakura defeat, prompting Ino to admire their growth. While healing Sakura, Ino recalls a past visit to the Yamanaka, Nara, and Akimichi Clan Memorial with her father Inoichi, who prepared her for years of hiden training she initially avoided. After celebrating Chouji’s hospital release following his fight with the Sound Five, Ino chooses to become Tsunade’s subordinate like Sakura. Tsunade tests her for three months to learn octopus revival, which Ino masters through hard study with Sakura. Realizing her path, Ino accepts the clan training and thanks Sakura. As the trio eats the scorpion, Team Ameno detects them and approaches.
