Deidara destroys Sand ninja from his dragon, prompting Zetsu and Akatsuki members Hidan and Kakuzu to arrive. Kakuzu retrieves a body while Zetsu and Deidara discuss the event. Meanwhile, Naruto unmasks a Root member as Anko. Shikamaru deduces the mission is to let Sasuke reach Orochimaru and orders a retreat. Lee stays behind to stall pursuers, removing his weights to open the fifth of the Eight Gates. The Akatsuki group meets Sasori, where Hidan argues with Deidara, recalling the Hizashi incident and blaming Deidara for the explosion that killed Yahiko. Sasori presents Nagato and Konan with a Flying Raijin Kunai, blaming Minato and Konoha. In Ame, Nagato vows revenge via the Deva Path using Yahiko's body.
