Team 7 waits for the Infinite Tsukuyomi to fade while Sasuke reviews Itachi’s memories. These flashbacks cover Itachi’s Anbu promotion, Shisui’s suicide, and his Mangekyou Sharingan awakening. Itachi serves Danzo, who tasks him with assassinations and Uchiha surveillance. Fugaku reveals his own Mangekyou Sharingan, obtained during the Third Shinobi World War, and plans a bloodless coup using the Nine-Tails. Itachi reports the plot to Hiruzen and Danzo, receiving an ultimatum to eliminate the clan. He enlists Obito’s aid to attack the police force while Itachi strikes the compound. After showing Fugaku a future vision, Itachi kills his parents, Mikoto and Fugaku, following a tense standoff. He then eliminates former subordinates before joining the Akatsuki alongside Juuzou Biwa.
