Zetsu departs with Yugito as Hidan and Kakuzu travel to the Fire Temple, where they slaughter the resident monks. Kakuzu identifies Chiriku as part of the Shinobi Guardian Twelve and seeks the bounty on his head. Chiriku fights valiantly but is ultimately killed by Hidan. Despite Hidan's complaints, Kakuzu pauses to collect the bounty before continuing their mission. Meanwhile, Naruto advances to the next phase of his training, which involves cutting the flow of a waterfall. This event occurs during the Akatsuki Suppression Mission arc, specifically episode 2 of 17.
