Ep. 3: Koyomi encounters Kaiki and Hitagi, who reveals his dangerous past before a call from Tsubasa changes her mind.

On his way home from Suruga's house, Koyomi meets a man named Deishuu Kaiki. He later crosses paths with Hitagi on the street, but she knocks him unconscious after he mentions Kaiki. In the present, Hitagi explains that Kaiki is a dangerous con man who deceived her mother, which is why she has imprisoned him. Koyomi receives a text from his younger sister requesting help and uses his vampire strength to break free from his handcuffs. Hitagi threatens to fight if he leaves, but a frantic phone call from Tsubasa causes her to panic. After the call, Hitagi agrees to let Koyomi go without a fight, revealing that Tsubasa was the caller.
