Koyomi successfully removes only half of the poison from Karen’s system, leaving her with a slightly reduced fever but not fully healed. While traveling to Hitagi’s residence, he encounters Mayoi and shares details regarding his sister’s condition. At Hitagi’s home, he discovers she has arranged a meeting with Kaiki to exact revenge. Koyomi informs her about Kaiki’s previous interaction with Karen and persuades her to wait for his assistance before taking action. Later, Koyomi returns home to find Tsukihi reporting that Karen is missing. Fearing she may have gone to face Kaiki again, he requests Shinobu’s aid to locate her.
