Unaware of Nezumi's actions, Sion and Rikiga visit a used clothing store where Shion finds Safu's coat, which was smuggled out of the facility. Meanwhile, Safu is held at the correctional facility and treated as a sample by the researchers there.

The town is suddenly attacked by No.6 military tanks, and the army detains all survivors for transport to the correctional facility. Karan worries about Shion's safety, but Yoming reassures her, explaining that the Twilight House was created to eliminate the elderly population. Karan subsequently receives a message from one of Nezumi's rats, informing her that she will be reunited with Shion.

Sep 16, 2011Nezumi questions Safu about her role in leading them to Mother, who was imprisoned in the Moon Drop for four years. Mother reveals researchers intended to use her to analyze Nezumi and harness Elyurias' power to restore the land. As Yoming broadcasts to the dying city, Safu admits she is Elyurias and confesses her love to Shion. Nezumi plants an explosive on Mother and they flee, but Nezumi is shot. They attempt to escape via a garbage chute, where Shion is fatally shot in the heart. Inukashi and Rikiga arrive to interrogate Nezumi, while Dog Keeper urges evacuation as the building collapses. Nezumi refuses to leave, singing to the dying Shion. A spectral Safu appears, sings to Shion, and vanishes, revealing the true Elyurias. Shion miraculously revives. The pair exits the facility, and Nezumi kisses Shion, promising he will be fine before walking away toward the wall.
