To save Safu, Shion and Rat travel to the Western District's edge, where they encounter a legless leader who originally named Rat. This man reveals he was the first survivor of the parasite bees and identifies Rat as the last survivor of the forest folk destroyed by No. 6. During a vision involving wind and singing reminiscent of Rat's past play, he repeats the melody, causing the surrounding water to glow. The legless man then explains the origins of Elyurias, providing the crucial context for why No. 6 eradicated the forest folk.
