Ep. 1: Yato loses his Regalia after a cheap prayer, then saves a girl who becomes a half-phantom

Yato, a god, accepts a five-yen request to defeat a phantom using his Regalia, Tomone. Immediately after the battle, Tomone terminates their contract, leaving Yato without a weapon. He then accepts a job to locate a missing cat named Milord. During this search, Hiyori Iki sees Yato walking into traffic and pushes him out of the way, getting hit by a bus instead. Her spirit separates from her body but she returns safely. While hospitalized, Hiyori hears voices and meets Yato again, who reveals his identity as a deity. Later, Yato finds Milord but is attacked by the phantom. Hiyori helps him escape, discovering that the accident has turned her into a half-phantom with a cat-like tail, causing her spirit to detach occasionally. To cure this condition, she pays Yato five yen for assistance.
