Rikuo utilizes the Matoi technique to absorb the collective fear of the Night Parade of a Hundred Demons, launching an assault on Nue that causes the enemy's body to disintegrate. Surprised by this outcome, Nue retreats to Hell with his followers, vowing to return to complete the battle. The allies celebrate their unexpected triumph. Rikuo requests the position of Third Heir to the Nura Clan from his grandfather, pledging to undergo rigorous training to increase his strength. Hidemoto and Nurarihyon estimate that they have approximately one year before Nue's return. After resting and dreaming of his father and grandfather, Rikuo attends a council meeting where Nurarihyon announces an impending all-out war against the Nue clan and its retainers. Rikuo then instructs his subordinates that the Night Parade of a Hundred Demons will adhere to a strict code of honor and refrain from harming humans.
