Ep. 5: Ria challenges Nobuaki's authority while Yousuke uncovers the King's Game history before dying.

Ria insults Nami for suicide, claiming her punishment was invalid because she did not perform the act herself. She asserts her role as King, tasing Nobuaki to criticize his lack of resolve and stating her desire to enjoy the King's Game by defeating him. Meanwhile, classmate Yousuke researches the game, discovering that victims received one-character texts and that the game originated thirty years ago in Yonaki village. Yousuke dies along with nearly half the class for breaking the rule against crying, a deduction made by Nobuaki. While traveling to Yonaki, Nobuaki is struck and wakes bound. Kaori accuses him of being the King and killing Yousuke. Nobuaki reveals Yousuke’s affection for Kaori and his request for protection. Kaori cries upon hearing this and dies for violating the rule.
