Oct 5, 2017Transferring student Kanazawa Nobuaki attempts to isolate himself from classmates but receives a text from the King mandating participation in The Kings Game under penalty of death. Ordered to kiss Honda Natsuko, he faces disbelief and hostility when he warns others of the lethal stakes. Having played before, Nobuaki chooses to break the rules and accept death, which would also kill Natsuko. As the deadline nears, Natsuko confesses her love and kisses him just in time. Nobuaki then discovers that other students received different instructions and rushes to save them, but finds several have already hanged themselves. The remaining survivors, realizing the game is real, blame Nobuaki for the deaths. Satou Yuuichi receives a punishment text for breaking a rule and immediately bleeds to death.

Finally, she tries to persuade Mizuki, who must text DIE to two students to kill them, to send the message to Nobuaki instead.

In a deserted location, Kenta receives a mandatory order from the King to command a classmate. He chooses to order himself to protect Mizuki’s life to comfort her. Nobuaki shares a flashback regarding a classmate who died after losing a popularity vote. Meanwhile, Natsuko retrieves the mobile phone that Nobuaki had dropped during the incident.

After failing to identify the King by touching everyone, Nami receives a punishment to go blind and a taunt that the King is in their class, requiring mutual hatred to reveal them. Nobuaki is ordered to lose something important. He fails to break his possessions or end his relationship with Chiemi. Ultimately, he fulfills the order only when Nami drowns herself to help him.

Meanwhile, classmate Yousuke researches the game, discovering that victims received one-character texts and that the game originated thirty years ago in Yonaki village. Yousuke dies along with nearly half the class for breaking the rule against crying, a deduction made by Nobuaki. While traveling to Yonaki, Nobuaki is struck and wakes bound. Kaori accuses him of being the King and killing Yousuke. Nobuaki reveals Yousuke’s affection for Kaori and his request for protection. Kaori cries upon hearing this and dies for violating the rule.

Nov 10, 2017A new rule forces one student to roll a die and name that many peers for punishment. After Toshiyuki Abe threatens to kill Chiemi, Naoya rolls a six, causing all classmates to die except Nobuaki, Chiemi, and Ria. Ria explains that a computer virus linked to the King's Game caused hypnosis, making bodies kill their own cells. This digital evolution of a bacterial virus spread through text messages, likely with assistance. Ria developed an anti-virus to remove the Kings by exploiting a program bug, but the bug was a trap set by the King. She is punished and dies, leaving Nobuaki a backup plan. Only Nobuaki and Chiemi survive. In the present, Mizuki receives a new phone, and she, Nobuaki, and Kenta reach the sealed gate of Yonaki village.
EP 7Nobuaki investigates Honda house while Mizuki's suicide texts cause fatal errors
Nov 16, 2017Nobuaki explores the abandoned Yonaki village and enters the Honda residence, where he finds notes and a photo linking Chiemi and Natsuko as sisters connected to the King's game. Outside, Mizuki struggles with her decision and texts DIE to herself, declaring her love for Kenta and hoping their deaths will keep them together. Kenta, angered by her lack of will to live, knocks her out and sends the texts to himself and Natsuko using her phone. Nobuaki discovers the messages but realizes they failed because they were not sent from Mizuki's original device. Consequently, both Mizuki and Kenta die. Nobuaki then receives a call from Natsuko on his stolen phone, witnessing her assault on Teruaki while she mocks their demise.

Riona reveals that Natsuko’s late classmate, Ria, also collected characters from victims, spelling out the message "those who have hope." This aligns with messages Natsuko viewed after Yuuichi’s death. Natsuko convenes the class at Bunko Park for the next order, requiring participants to break fingers by seat order. Right fingers add +1 point, while left fingers subtract -1, with a pass option allowed. Those with negative totals face punishment. Natsuko plans to eliminate Nobuaki through this mechanic, but everyone passes. Teruaki then breaks one right finger and his entire left hand, resulting in a score of -5 for Natsuko.

Meanwhile, Natsuko reaches the summit first and kills Takuya, Yuuna, and Rina using various tactics. As the eight-hour mark approaches, Nobuaki and Riona join Ryou and Aya at the summit, where Natsuko blocks their path. With only five students left, the group faces a final confrontation to end the deadly game.

Dec 21, 2017The group reaches the summit and receives orders to create a human doll. Ryou sacrifices his leg to Natsuko, who then kills Aya. Survivors Nobuaki, Riona, and Natsuko decode messages to learn the game is an endless viral apocalypse requiring a carrier. Natsuko attempts to strangle Nobuaki, but Riona wounds her. Riona confesses her love, yet Natsuko fatally shoots Nobuaki, refusing to let Riona have him. Nobuaki reunites with deceased friends in the afterlife. Riona, the sole survivor, drags his body to the beach and drowns herself. The episode concludes with a new student receiving a text from the King, signaling the game has restarted.
