A new rule forces one student to roll a die and name that many peers for punishment. After Toshiyuki Abe threatens to kill Chiemi, Naoya rolls a six, causing all classmates to die except Nobuaki, Chiemi, and Ria. Ria explains that a computer virus linked to the King's Game caused hypnosis, making bodies kill their own cells. This digital evolution of a bacterial virus spread through text messages, likely with assistance. Ria developed an anti-virus to remove the Kings by exploiting a program bug, but the bug was a trap set by the King. She is punished and dies, leaving Nobuaki a backup plan. Only Nobuaki and Chiemi survive. In the present, Mizuki receives a new phone, and she, Nobuaki, and Kenta reach the sealed gate of Yonaki village.
