Ep. 8: Teruaki and Nobuaki investigate the King's game while Natsuko manipulates the finger-breaking rules at Bunko Park.

Teruaki attempts to seek help, but Natsuko intercepts him and confiscates his phone. Meanwhile, Nobuaki discovers notebook entries suggesting the King's game involves a bug and mutation. After receiving a call from classmate Riona Matsumoto, who is researching the game, Nobuaki returns to his hometown. Riona reveals that Natsuko’s late classmate, Ria, also collected characters from victims, spelling out the message "those who have hope." This aligns with messages Natsuko viewed after Yuuichi’s death. Natsuko convenes the class at Bunko Park for the next order, requiring participants to break fingers by seat order. Right fingers add +1 point, while left fingers subtract -1, with a pass option allowed. Those with negative totals face punishment. Natsuko plans to eliminate Nobuaki through this mechanic, but everyone passes. Teruaki then breaks one right finger and his entire left hand, resulting in a score of -5 for Natsuko.
