Liko and Roy reach Artazon and encounter Champion-ranked trainer Nemona, who worries about Gym Leader Brassius neglecting his post. Brassius reveals an artistic slump triggered by seeing a black Rayquaza after sculpting one, leading him to view his work as inferior. Roy’s admiration for the sculpture inspires Brassius to challenge him to a Gym battle to test his resolve. Fuecoco learns Stomping Tantrum but ultimately loses to Brassius’s Terastalized Sudowoodo. Convinced of Roy’s spirit, Brassius reveals a sculpture of Arboliva carved in the forest where he witnessed Rayquaza, highlighting the legendary Pokémon’s resonance with the creature.
