During the night, she meets Amethio of the Explorers group, who delivers a letter from her grandmother asking for her special pendant. Suspecting foul play, Liko flees while being chased by Amethio and his team. She is rescued by a man accompanied by a Charizard. As Liko attempts to jump from a rooftop to escape, her pendant begins to glow brightly.

Friede meets with Liko's mother, Lucca, who explains that Rayquaza and Arboliva are two of the Six Heroes, Pokémon owned by the legendary adventurer Lucius; Liko and Roy come to the same conclusion after reading a storybook written by Alex about the legend, determining Lucius to be the figure from the vision. Liko resolves to find her grandmother, the one who gave her the pendant, while Roy decides to find Lucius's other four Pokémon. The Rising Volt Tacklers set out to Galar using a hint from Lucca's Squawkabilly, unknowingly tracked by the Magneton's trainer, Spinel.
