Ash, Misty, Brock, and Pikachu fall into a hole dug by Squirtle. Officer Jenny arrives, causing the Squirtle to scatter. Team Rocket’s picnic is interrupted when the Squirtle trap and tie them to a tree, eating their food. Meowth negotiates with the Squirtle to secure release. Under Meowth’s command, the Squirtle capture Ash, Misty, Brock, and a weakened Pikachu. The humans are bound in a cave while Pikachu rests in a cage. Ash persuades the Squirtle to allow him to visit town for a Super Potion to treat Pikachu. Meowth waits for Jessie and James to arrive to finalize their scheme.
