A recent storm has destroyed the bridge, forcing Ash and his friends to find an alternative way to cross the river. They encounter a riverman who agrees to ferry them to the opposite bank, but only under the condition that they locate a specific elusive Sudowoodo. The group must therefore focus their efforts on finding this Pokémon to secure their passage across the water.
