Ash encounters Casey at the Bug Catching Contest, where their rivalry intensifies. Misty becomes angry at Casey for overworking her Pokémon. Simultaneously, Team Rocket traps Ash in a cage. Casey’s Chikorita evolves into a Bayleef to save him. Ash wins the contest, receiving a Sun Stone and a Beedrill he had previously caught. He gives the Beedrill to Casey due to her affection for striped yellow-colored Pokémon. This act highlights the bond formed during the intense competition and the rescue attempt by the evolved Grass-type Pokémon.
