In Nimbasa Town, Snivy survives Pawniard’s Guillotine to win the first match for Ash. Georgia and Iris argue, while Dino defeats Antonio and Luke’s Larvesta beats Cilan’s Stunfisk. The second round concludes with Iris battling Stephan’s male Sawk. Emolga uses Attract and Hidden Power, countering Sawk’s Close Combat and Bulk Up. After a direct hit from Hidden Power, Emolga paralyzes Sawk with Static and defeats it with Volt Switch. This victory ends the second round, setting up the semi-finals where Ash will face Dino and Iris will face Luke.
