A Purrloin provokes a Tranquill by stealing its food, prompting a flock of Tranquill to chase it away. Later, Ash and his companions encounter this same Purrloin during their travels. Meowth and Oshawott are instantly attracted to the Pokémon, mistakenly believing it to be female. This encounter occurs as the group continues their journey, highlighting the deceptive nature of the Purrloin and the immediate, incorrect assumptions made by the other characters regarding its gender.
