Ep. 5: Misty and Friends Seek Kinzo for Badges After Gym Stockout
Misty struggles with Psyduck’s fear of water during swimming lessons with Tracey. Sakura arrives to challenge Misty for the Cascade Badge, but the Gym is out of stock. The trio travels to Rifure Village to find artisan Kinzo, rescuing the injured craftsman along the way. Kinzo demands they earn the badges through rigorous labor, including 4 AM runs and wood splitting. After two days of training, a final test involves battling Kinzo’s Feraligatr. Psyduck falls into a pond, causing Kinzo to doubt Misty’s worthiness. Thieves steal the badges, but Psyduck uses Confusion to defeat their Poochyena and Zigzagoon. Impressed by this display, Kinzo grants the badges, allowing Misty to battle Sakura. Sakura’s Espeon wins with Psybeam, earning her the Cascade Badge.
