Ahiru dreams of a dancing prince and later encounters Myuuto, who faces hostility from Fakir. In ballet class, she learns Myuuto dates Rue, a talented advanced student, while only she notices their cat teacher. Ahiru attempts to apologize to Myuuto for his leg injury but is blocked by Fakir. That night, Drosselmeyer observes her desire to help him. The next morning, Ahiru sees canary chicks flying; when a raven attacks a fledgling, Myuuto jumps to save it and falls. Ahiru transforms into Princess Tutu to rescue him. Confused about her identity, she flees, marking the beginning of the story.
