Shaoyu rejects leading the Soaring Dragon Army remnants into a futile conflict and departs. He returns to the Confucians, feeling conflicted about his life purpose and despairing over the Chu people's fate. Meanwhile, Zifang takes Ziming and Ziyu on a walk in Shanghai to alleviate their boredom and visit Gongsun Linglong, though they successfully avoid her. During their stroll across a bridge, they witness a local bully harassing a young swordsman they had encountered earlier that day. The bully’s taunts escalate, demanding the stranger either fight him or crawl between his legs to cross the bridge.
