Shampoo explains that Chinese Amazon Law requires her to marry a male victor or kill a female one. She targets Ranma, angering Akane, who cancels their engagement. Ranma is conflicted by Shampoo's attraction to his male form and her hatred of his female form. At school, Shampoo attempts to feed Ryoga in pig form to Ranma, but Akane intervenes and rescues P-Chan. Enraged, Shampoo gives Akane the Kiss of Death and challenges her to a fight in the courtyard. Ranma arrives unconscious after being knocked out and finds Akane safe but suffering from amnesia, leaving her unable to recognize him upon waking.
