A group of warriors known as the Knights of the Zodiac defend the goddess Athena. Seiya, an orphan, is fated to become the Pegasus Knight. Athena has been reborn, but a prophecy warns of her defeat by Poseidon and Hades, leading to human destruction. Seiya refuses to accept this fate and vows to protect her.
