Only Togashi and Tazawa reach the destination, but they are subsequently captured. As a result, they are subjected to punishment using the Otokojuku Spirit Discipline Rod.
2EP 2First Years March Through Homes and Gang Headquarters While Momotaro Defeats Opponents
Mar 3, 1988First Year students participate in a Forward Marching exercise that leads them through local residences and the headquarters of the Pure Evil Group, a local criminal gang. Momotaro successfully overcomes this gang during the march. In response, the group's leader, Gokukoji Genzo, dispatches his son, Hidemaro, to seek vengeance against the school and Momotaro. Momotaro defeats the gang's champion in the ensuing conflict. Following this defeat, Hidemaro swears to take revenge for his humiliation. The episode details the progression of the marching exercise and the subsequent confrontation between the students and the criminal organization led by Gokukoji Genzo.
3EP 3Otokojuku Students Raid Kitchen Amid Strict Diet and Union Concerns
Mar 10, 1988Instructors enforce an unpopular strict diet at Otokojuku, prompting two students to raid the kitchen. Fearing student unionization, the staff holds Momotaro responsible for the incident, sentencing him to the Prison of Penitence. While his punishment concludes, the Pure Evil Group launches an attack on the school. Togashi Gengi volunteers to endure the Oil Bath of Hell in Momotaro's stead, motivated by past assistance from his friend. After the attackers depart, they encounter Bro Yasha, an assassin tasked with revenge. Momotaro defeats Yasha, who then advises Hidemaro to join Otokojuku to cultivate his masculinity.
4EP 4Oni-Hige’s Roppongi Revenge Fails as Students Defeat J.J. George
Mar 17, 1988Instructor Oni-Hige is beaten by George after harassing a woman, prompting a mission against foreign men in Roppongi. Students avoid fighting George, leading to Oni-Hige’s second defeat. Hidemaro Genzo buys makeup while students hold handstands for an hour. Hidemaro confronts former WBB heavyweight champion J.J. George for scamming a shop assistant but is easily defeated. Mar 24, 1988Togashi, Tazawa, Matsuo, and Hidemaro attempt to test Principal Edajima but mistakenly attack Oni-Hige. Togashi faces punishment via the Boulder Bunny Hop, while the others are taken to Rakkyo University. Oni-Hige accuses them of prioritizing pleasure and fashion, demanding they wear traditional loincloths with Otokojuku logos. After they laugh, he orders his students to beat them. The Rakkyo University Cheer Squad intervenes, holding the group hostage for a 1 million Yen ransom. Principal Edajima arrives in a tank, destroying the clubhouse and claiming to film a movie when confronted by police. He defeats the Rakkyo group, earning Otokojuku students' respect, and rides off into the sunset.
6EP 6Tsubakiyama Challenges Oniyokozuna to Sumo After Canary Incident at Otokojuku
Apr 4, 1988Tsubakiyama Kiyomi struggles with the physical demands of Otokojuku training and attempts to flee at night with his pet canary. He is intercepted by Second Year student Oniyokozuna, leading to a challenge. Staff wake First Year students at 4am to witness a Spike Thicket Sumo contest between the two. Tsubakiyama is losing badly until he discovers Oniyokozuna ate his bird, prompting a vengeful comeback aided by Momotaro to win. Later, while mourning his bird at its grave, Tsubakiyama is attacked by other Second Year students. Momotaro intervenes again, helping Tsubakiyama find strength and courage. Consequently, he decides to stay at Otokojuku rather than leave.
7EP 7Second Years' Retaliation Against First Years and Momotaro's Single Kick Victory
Apr 11, 1988Seeking vengeance for Oniyokozuna's loss, Second Year students assault First Years. Momotaro prevents immediate retaliation, citing school rules against striking seniors. The First Years are summoned to a Meeting Ceremony featuring humiliating and lethal tasks. Momotaro intervenes, challenging Second Year acting head Edogawa and defeating him with a single kick. Instructors move to expel him, but Principal Edajima intervenes, noting that Momotaro did not raise his hand, thereby avoiding expulsion.
8EP 8Otokojuku Students Visit Safari Park and Encounter Wild Animals
Apr 18, 1988Second Year leader Edogawa invites First Year students to Orient Safari Park for an overnight stay with wild animals in groups of three. Edogawa wears a gorilla suit to attack Momotaro, but a lion Momotaro befriended intervenes. The lion attacks Edogawa, who then cries for help. Momotaro beats Edogawa severely, claiming the attacker is an imposter. The First Years return to Otokojuku without injury.
9EP 9Principal Edajima orders First Years to shave heads unless the Head Seal is performed.
May 2, 1988After losing his final hair, Principal Edajima mandates that all First Year students shave their heads. The only exception is if a student successfully performs the Head Seal, which requires writing the kanji for "man" on the Principal's head. Numerous attempts by the students fail to achieve this goal. Eventually, Momotaro devises a trick that causes the Principal to wear a helmet with a stamp on the inside, thereby completing the seal. As a consequence of losing a bet with Momotaro, Instructor Oni-Hige also has his head shaved. This resolution ends the mandate for the First Years to shave their heads.
10EP 10Second Years Strike Back as Akashi Gouji Returns to Challenge Momotaro
May 9, 1988Tsubakiyama chases his pet squirrel onto the Second Years' lawn but hesitates to punish him when Momotaro appears. Instructors worry about the Second Years' cowardice, prompting Principal Edajima to recall former head student Akashi Gouji to confront Momotaro. Upon returning, Akashi invites First Year students to a Reinstatement Ceremony for the Second Year head. He humiliates former acting head Edogawa and several First Years before engaging Momotaro in a sword fight to the death. Principal Edajima uses this conflict to stage a public contest on Ganryu Island. The school subsequently sells tickets to raise funds necessary to pay its outstanding bills.
11EP 11Momotaro Intervenes in the Ganryu Island Sword Contest Against Akashi
May 16, 1988On the day of the scheduled sword contest on Ganryu Island, Momotaro refuses to participate in what he views as a vulgar fundraising spectacle. Togashi volunteers to fight in his place but is severely wounded by Akashi. Just as Akashi prepares to deliver the final blow, Momotaro arrives to represent the First Year students. The ensuing duel is intense, yet Momotaro overcomes Akashi’s Rock-Slicing Sword technique by relying on his own spiritual strength to secure victory. However, the instructors had wagered all the ticket revenue on Akashi and lost everything, leaving the school without the funds necessary to settle its debts.
12EP 12Togashi Helps an Old Lady Mistaken for His Mother in Harajuku
May 23, 1988Togashi, broke in Harajuku, saves an elderly woman from a thug. She mistakes him for her missing son and invites him home. Believing she hides a fortune, Togashi cooks for her and visits daily after school, joined by classmates. A thug later reveals she is a liar, causing Togashi to abandon her. Yakuza members, to whom she owes money, capture her. As they prepare to kill her, Togashi returns to intervene but is beaten. Momotaro and other students arrive to rescue both Togashi and the woman from the Yakuza attackers.
13EP 13Super Police Academy Students Arrive at Otokojuku for Training
May 30, 1988Three months after enrollment, Principal Edajima introduces thirty Super Police Academy students to Otokojuku. Leader Keith Jackson brings chocolate and gum, angering Togashi but pleasing instructors. Mick Kong greets Momotaro with a hostile handshake, escalating tensions between Japanese and American groups. To foster friendship through combat, Edajima organizes a boxing match using spiked iron gloves. The first fight pits Genji Togashi against Mick Kong. Despite enduring a severe beating, Togashi ultimately emerges victorious in this intense initial bout between the rival student groups.
14EP 14J arrives and defeats Momotaro, who uses his Mind's Eye to win the bout
Jun 6, 1988During the second bout of the Picaresque Boxing Match, Keith Jackson fights Gokukoji Hidemaro while SPA student J arrives and challenges Second Year student Akashi. J shatters Akashi's sword with magnum steel knuckles and proceeds to the stadium. Tazawa's coaching fails, resulting in a draw with one win each. Momotaro then faces J, who knocks him down with an unseen punch. Momotaro attempts to use his Mind's Eye but struggles due to lack of practice and false blindness. Akashi cuts Momotaro's eyelids to ensure true blindness, allowing Momotaro to open his Mind's Eye and defeat J. Principal Edajima's strategy succeeds. Afterward, the American and Japanese students share a bond of friendship, and J decides to remain at Otokojuku.
15EP 15Oni-Hige organizes a deadly ruby game to protect Otokojuku from the Great Kanto Student Alliance.
Jun 13, 1988With Principal Edajima in Kansai, Oni-Hige oversees Otokojuku and revives a school festival banned for 10 years due to fatalities. Instructors hope to earn money from the event. Akashi announces that the aggressive Great Kanto Student Alliance intends to subjugate Otokojuku as their 100th school. He tasks Momotaro and the First Years with handling the threat. A thousand alliance students arrive to take over, but Guard Captain Morita claims 30 men can defeat them. Before the battle begins, Oni-Hige intervenes, proposing a game of ruby to protect visitors and generate revenue. Players must reach an antidote within 20 minutes to survive the poison administered by the steel ball key. The dangerous game commences.
16EP 16Intense Rugby Clash: Momo Bears Friends' Tears and Runs
Jun 20, 1988The Kanto Great Student Alliance and Otokojuku engage in a violent rugby match that starts as a brawl. Otokojuku loses possession to Morita, the Alliance's Captain of the Guard, who uses his Linked Iron Axe Whip to break through defenses. Momotaro defends the goal line as players collapse from supposed poison, sparing only Morita. Morita attacks Momotaro, but the latter defeats him. The students recover because Oni-Hige administered anaesthetic instead of poison. Rankiryuu reveals instructors plan to keep festival earnings, prompting Otokojuku to assault them. Momotaro donates the money to charity. The Great Student Alliance's President executes Morita for his failure.
17EP 17Four Great Trials of Terror Begin on Sacred Mt. Fuji
Jun 27, 1988Date Omito, President of the Kanto Great Student Alliance, arrives at Otokojuku with his students, sparking an immediate conflict between the two groups. Principal Edajima intervenes to halt the violence and proposes resolving the dispute through the Four Great Trials of Terror on Mt. Fuji, featuring four representatives from each side. Otokojuku selects Momotaro, Togashi, J, and Toramaru Ryuuji from the Prison of Penitence to represent them. Date Omito is joined by the Three Fists of the Great Student Alliance: Raiden, Hien, and Gekkou. This arrangement sets the stage for a decisive confrontation to settle the ongoing rivalry between the institutions through these specific trials.
18EP 18The Sulfur Spring of Tears Battle: The Last of J and the Yanks' Spirit
Jul 4, 1988The Otokojuku group reaches the Temple of Hell's Treasure at Mt. Fuji, where eight combatants in white uniforms are shackled to giant steel balls. Guided by monks, they push the weights up the mountain while their fates are tracked by eight candles below. At four locations, one representative per team fights to the death. J and Raiden clash first at 1,000 degree sulfur springs. Raiden uses sharp blades in his shoes to gain an advantage, but J traps him and delivers a final Mach Punch. Both fighters perish in the springs, and their corresponding candles are extinguished.
19EP 19Togashi's Final Stand Against Hien in the Midair Cliff Battle
Jul 11, 1988Following J's death, Momotaro, Togashi, and Toramaru mark their arms with his initial. The teams transport steel balls to the Midair Cliff site for the next confrontation. Togashi faces Hien of the Birdman Fist while suspended by ropes. Hien utilizes superior aerial mobility to gain the upper hand. Togashi engages in a fierce struggle but is ultimately overpowered and begins to fall. An updraft known as Rising Dragon Wind lifts him back toward Hien. In a final act, Togashi attacks Hien, causing both combatants to plummet to their deaths. The candles representing their lives are extinguished.
20EP 20Toramaru's Final Stand: The Burning Man Falls in the Frozen Arena
Jul 25, 1988Momotaro, Togashi, Date, and Gekkou transport giant steel balls to the Bridge of No Return for the third trial. They traverse the Wailing Cave and reach the Blazing Slab of Ice, where Toramaru and Gekkou prepare to fight on a melting ice pinnacle above sharp stalagmites. Gekkou attacks with spinning half-moon blades, but Togashi withstands the assault and retaliates with powerful farts. This causes Gekkou's body to heat up, revealing Raging Tattoos that harden his skin like steel. Togashi throws Gekkou onto the ice spikes, but he climbs back up to continue the battle. Togashi eventually defeats Gekkou, yet both are crushed by falling ice, extinguishing their candles.
34EP 34Farewell to Otokojuku: Refining Manhood Through Courage and Guts
Nov 14, 1988Nearly a year after enrolling, Momotaro, Togashi, J, and Momotaro reflect on their past experiences. They encounter Upperclassman Akashi, who congratulates Momotaro on his victory in the Great Trembling Conquest of the Unified Eight contest. Akashi notes that his time at Otokojuku will further refine his manhood. The episode concludes with the entire school paying tribute to the students, a gesture that includes Principal Edajima honoring their achievements and growth during their tenure at the institution.
