Lugh leaves Maha to manage his business in Milteu and travels home with Tarte. They are attacked by wolves, which Tarte defeats, prompting Lugh to note increased monster activity. Upon arrival, Lugh meets his father Cian, who offers him a peaceful life as a merchant since Cian is too old for further action. Lugh declines, choosing to remain an assassin to gain the aristocratic status required to marry Dia. Cian accepts this decision and assigns Lugh his first target as a fully trained operative.
