Ep. 1: A cheerful doll serves a reserved shadow mistress amidst soot-filled duties and budding friendship

Children drink coffee-colored beverages to pledge servitude to the Shadows House. A female Living Doll named Emilico awakens to serve her Shadow mistress, Kate. Emilico is optimistic and clumsy, contrasting with Kate’s quiet and reserved demeanor. Kate emits soot when anxious, which Emilico diligently cleans. The two gradually grow closer despite their differences. Emilico learns she will soon clean areas outside Kate’s room. Excited by this news, she looks out the window and sees a gloomy Doll glaring at her after she waves. This marks the beginning of their service and relationship within the household hierarchy.
