Ep. 2: Ryo seeks help to decode a letter from Yuanda Zhu after his father's death.

Ryo receives a Chinese letter from Yuanda Zhu addressed to his deceased father. After failing to find readers with Nozomi's help, he visits Dobuita's Heartbeats Bar. He trades a promise to never return for information about the Chinese Mafia, learning to seek Charlie. Ryo confronts Charlie, who flees and falsely accuses Ryo of being sent by the Chen gang. The next day, men from the bar guide Ryo to a construction site where Charlie ambushes him. Ryo defeats them all, proving his innocence. Charlie admits his target is a dangerous foe. Shigeo, an old friend of Ryo's father, overhears this and later meets Ryo at a park. Shigeo shares martial arts knowledge and directs Ryo to a pottery shop owner who can read the letter.
