Kyoto Branch sends a distress signal from Hokuto regarding the new Shinkalion 700 Series. Three driver candidates developed by the branch engage in a conflict, leading each to declare their intention to quit the position. Hayato and Futaba immediately head to Kyoto to locate the three boys and address the situation. During their search, they encounter Takatora Kirishima, a boy speaking with a Kagoshima dialect who aspires to become a chef. He is revealed to be one of the new Shinkalion driver candidates. The group meets in front of a kitchen knife shop, where the confrontation regarding the driver roles takes place, prompting Hayato to intervene in the dispute.
