After discovering that the final two Chaos Emeralds are hidden within the Metarex fortress, Eggman proposes an alliance with Sonic and the rest of the group to breach the location. The team successfully enters the stronghold and manages to locate both the Chaos Emeralds and a Planet Egg. However, upon securing these items, they quickly realize that the circumstances surrounding the fortress are significantly more complex than initially anticipated, complicating their mission and the broader situation.
