Ep. 11: Kugel summons Ledo and Pinion to his fleet while revealing his secret war against the Hideauze.
Kugel contacts Ledo, ordering his return, and reveals he suffers from an illness that confines him to his cockpit. Ledo shares his findings on the Hideauze, prompting Kugel to admit the Galactic Alliance high command knew of the threat but chose to fight. Kugel discloses he has been secretly organizing a powerful fleet within a militaristic society to unite all humans on Earth. Pinion is summoned to this fleet by Lukkage, who now serves under Kugel. A Machine Caliber Striker offers Pinion a position as an engineer to develop weapons for the fleet. The rest of Pinion's companions are also forced to join Kugel's forces. Later, Kugel discusses the next phase of his plan with Ledo, revealing a large-scale operation that surprisingly involves the Gargantia.
