Haruhi Suzumiya grows bored again and decides to enter the SOS Brigade into a baseball tournament to break the monotony. Because there are not enough members, they recruit Tsuruya, Taniguchi, Kunikida, and Kyon's sister to fill out the roster. The assembled team proves to be completely unskilled and hopeless at the sport. The stakes are incredibly high, as Haruhi believes that losing the match could result in the destruction of the world. To prevent this catastrophic outcome, Yuki utilizes her abilities to manipulate the events of the game and ensure a favorable result for the brigade.
