Ep. 16: The Core Entry Operation

The group installs a device on the Tartarus to escape the core, but Major Legretta and the Oracle Knights block the port. Builders sacrifice themselves to delay the pursuers, while Van reveals his plan to destroy the world using replicas. Inside the core, the team confronts Synch, who shatters his mask to reveal he is a discarded replica of Ion. Ion explains that Van created multiple copies of the dying original Fon Master Ion, discarding the weaker ones. Synch chooses to jump into the core rather than continue serving Van. As the group flees, Luke collapses after hearing Lorelei’s voice, which claims Luke is a perfect isofon. Tear attempts to heal Luke but collapses after Lorelei possesses her. The survivors escape in the Albiore, but Tear remains unconscious because her body absorbed contaminated seventh fonons from the Passage Rings, a condition that will prove fatal if it continues.
