Ep. 17: The group activates passage rings while confronting Van and facing a deadly trap at the final ring.

The party agrees to bring Tear to lower the lands, as she alone can activate the passage rings. Spinoza apologizes for his past actions and joins the mission. Luke confronts Tear about her willingness to die, refusing to leave her side. They reach the Meggiora Highlands, where Tear activates a ring but collapses. At desert ruins, she faints after activating another ring. Spinoza confirms they can seal the miasma, leaving only one Sephiroth remaining. Van reads the Seventh Fonstone and asks Tear to join him, but she refuses. Asch attacks Van and is wounded. Van challenges Asch’s desire to save a world that caused him despair. Tear tells Van to kill her to create a replica. Van retreats, telling Asch to meet him at the Absorption Gate. The group travels through Keterberg, where Jade hands Dist to the military police. Ion and Luke discuss their nature as replicas. Legretta, Arietta, and Largo attack. Jade causes an avalanche to protect the group. They reach the final ring, but it triggers a trap that accelerates the land collapse.
