Misaki examines Ryouko Kuriba, who devised Indian Poker plans, uncovering her role in a cyborg experiment designed to split a person into two to test soul creation. After rejoining, the cyborg Doppelgänger of Ryouko, who believed she was human, suffers an identity crisis and escapes her facility. Misaki sends Mikoto to investigate the experimental outcomes. Subsequently, Mikoto and Misaki confront the original Ryouko regarding the danger posed by the escaped Doppelgänger. Meanwhile, an underground organization called Scavenger is deployed to hunt down the fugitive cyborg. The situation escalates as multiple parties become involved in tracking the entity that originated from the failed attempt to generate a soul through technological division and reintegration.
