To prevent conflict, Scavenger leader Rita Iizumi convinces Mikoto that she is a Judgment member tasked with recovering Doppelgänger. As Mikoto chases the target, who is aiming for an airship containing secret information, Rita leads them toward the facility where the Scavengers were meant to deliver Doppelgänger, allowing them to complete their contract and escape. During this pursuit, Doppelgänger confronts Mikoto and continues to absorb matter, expanding to an enormous size in the process.
